Your free ChatGPT Go year is ending. What now?
Lakhs of people in India claimed a free year of ChatGPT Go. That year is now ending for many. Here is what to do, in plain words.
When does it end?
Your free year ends 12 months from the day you claimed it. Claims ran from 4 Nov 2025 to about 21 Jan 2026, so most free years end between Nov 2026 and Jan 2027. To see your exact date: open ChatGPT → Settings → Subscription.
What happens next?
If you do nothing, ₹399 per month is charged automatically to the card or UPI you added when you claimed the offer.
Don't want to pay?
Cancel in ChatGPT a few days before your renewal date. Don't cancel too early — cancelling can end the free period early. If you paid by UPI, also open your UPI app and remove the Autopay mandate, so no payment can go through.
Should you pay?
